The Secular Club is an independent student organization that is officially recognized by the American University of Beirut. The club was created by a group of social activists who were inspired by the secular values of the university itself. We are students seeking social change in the community of the university, through abolishing sectarianism and endorsing secular ideas. The club is -unlike many other AUB clubs- not affiliated with any political ideology, party or organization outside AUB.
We aim at promoting awareness regarding the necessity of evaluating people, thoughts, and ideas in the society according to proper intellectual standards rather than sectarian ones. Our concern will be providing an environment that is conducive to social interaction that is free of sectarian prejudice and stereotypes.
